About Us

Great people

The Nelson Curling Centre is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who work hard to provide enjoyable, affordable curling for all. We offer curling at all levels, including competitive and recreational leagues for all ages, in a welcoming, accessible and safe sporting environment.

Great ice

We have six sheets of some of the best curling ice in the Kootenays, in a bright, open, high-ceilinged arena. The curling rink also has an upstairs lounge with a viewing area and fully stocked bar, and a commercial kitchen for catering events.

The building is accessible, with a ramp up to the front door, a wheelchair-accessible washroom on the ground floor, and a wheelchair lift to access the lounge and viewing area upstairs.

The facility is available for private rentals, so if you're looking for a space for your next office party or family gathering, give us a call.

Great curling

Our curling season runs mid-October through mid-March every year. Check out our season calendar for this year's exact dates.

We offer a wide variety of leagues and drop-in curling options. Whether you're an adult or a youth, a competitive veteran or an occasional beginner, we have something that's right for you. See our Curl with us pages for details.

A part of the community

Curling has been a part of Nelson's community for well over 100 years. Today, we provide a fun, affordable winter sport that is accessible to people of all ages, skills and abilities. We have a busy youth program that offers schools and youth groups a great alternative for winter activities and Phys.Ed. programs. Last year we helped over 400 local students experienced curling, many for the first time. Our space, which is available for private rentals, gives the community a venue for family gatherings, banquets, office parties, or meetings.
